What is RPA?
RPA stands for Robotic Process Automation. This is an automation process that helps companies revolutionize work by introducing software robots to do all the repetitive and tedious work.
RPA is an amazing opportunity for companies to utilize their existing workforce much more efficiently and achieve goals that looked impossible before. Using software robots, the company can focus on activities they never had time or resources for, such as improving business and customer relations, growing or entering into new fields of business, etc.
It is important to note that robots work tirelessly 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, throughout the entire year.
Robots are capable of doing a wide range of tasks from the simplest to the most difficult and complicated ones. An example of a a simple task can be listing all incoming daily orders. This means the robot collects all the incoming orders by reading emails, checking online order forms, processing paper-based orders and other input sources. It will even check the inventory and put together an all-inclusive list of data required for the completion of the orders. There is no limit to the utilization of robots in the field of labour intensive, repetitive work.
Robots can work independently (unattended robots) or they can function as a simple support tool for human workforce (attended robots). Unattended robots run the whole process automatically, they only interact with people if an error occurs. The attended robots support human workforce by helping them run short processes or collect data and information quickly for human decision making.
The automation’s performance can be flexibly scaled so robots can successfully handle temporarily increased seasonal work.
